About Marcato Arts Foundation
Founded in 2024, Marcato Arts Foundation is a vibrant non-profit organization based in Kimberley, South Africa, committed to unlocking the creative potential of youth aged 12 and above. Through the transformative power of the arts, we empower individuals from previously disadvantaged communities by providing access to structured education in music, drama, dance, visual arts, and beyond.
From our humble beginnings, Marcato has already made a meaningful impact. Our students have gone on to perform in esteemed ensembles, and have showcased their talents at regional platforms. To date, we've directly supported over 20 learners, fostering creativity, discipline, and a strong sense of community.
Looking ahead, we are expanding our programs to include Marcato Youth Ensembles, giving learners advanced opportunities for group performance, collaboration, and musical excellence. This is part of our broader goal: to grow into a fully-fledged arts academy, offering holistic training across all major art disciplines.
